There is no blood in the blood banks of Sri Lanka.

The Director of the Blood Transfusion Service, Lakshman Edirisinghe says that there has been a decrease in the number of blood vessels in the last two weeks due to the spread of the Kovid-19 epidemic in the country.

Accordingly, the National Blood Transfusion Service has decided to embark on a special process to increase blood reserves for the next two weeks.

Lakshman Edirisinghe also requested donors and blood camp operators to contribute to the increase in blood reserves.

He said that the opportunity will be available at 107 blood centers that have blood transfusion services.
